The Tlingit & Haida Youth Employment Services (YES) Program provides paid workforce training opportunities for Tribal Youth (ages 14-24) in obtaining summer employment by teaming them with Southeast Alaska private businesses, community-based partners and local governments. The YES Program is available for Tribal Youth enrolled in a Federally recognized Tribe.
The intent of this program is to encourage self-sufficiency and support youth in exploring career and education opportunities while developing job skills.
All participants accepted into the YES program must attend an orientation. Orientation will cover onboarding paperwork, employer expectations, career and soft skill development, and more.
PLEASE NOTE: We are no longer accepting applications for 2025.
The YES Program connects youth with Host Mentors in their desired fields. Participants gain hands-on experience through various roles, such as clerical work, customer service, manual labor, and skilled apprenticeships.
