Tlingit & Haida’s Higher Education program offers scholarship opportunities to all Tlingit & Haida Tribal Citizens currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and are pursuing an associate degree or higher.
Important Notes:
- When applying for multiple scholarships, it is necessary to submit separate applications for each scholarship.
- Please do not email your documents. Sending Documents via email may delay processing times.
- All documents should be uploaded as PDFs.

- Documents must include both the school’s and student’s names.

College Student Assistance:
The College Student Assistance (CSA) Scholarship Award is a year-round scholarship program that serves tribal citizens residing within the United States. Funding for the College Student Assistance Scholarship is based on our compact agreement between Tlingit & Haida and the Southeast Alaska IRA tribes. Students who originate from Angoon, Craig, Douglas, Hoonah, Kake, Ketchikan, Klawock, Klukwan, Metlakatla, Petersburg, Sitka, Skagway, Wrangell, or Yakutat MUST first apply for CSA funding through their local IRA tribe. Applications from those who originate from these communities will be denied unless a denial letter for CSA funding is received with their applications.
- Be enrolled in Tlingit & Haida Central Council, Indian Tribes of Alaska
- Originate from a Southeast Alaska community
- Be enrolled in and attend an accredited college or university
- Be pursuing an associate degree or higher
- Have a cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Reside in the US
- Their T&H enrollment number
- Unofficial Copy of transcripts
- A class schedule for the term you are applying for, that shows the total registered credit hours for the term. OR a Certified Enrollment Verification verifying full-time or part-time attendance for the term. (transcripts are not accepted)
- A copy of an 'account summary' or bill outlining the charges for the applicable term.
Please take note of the application acceptance dates listed below. Eligible students may submit their applications at the beginning of each new term they attend. The CSA can only be applied for once per term. We are unable to expedite applications or provide processing times. Incomplete applications received by the term deadline will be denied. We do not offer retroactive scholarship payments and cannot accept late submissions.

**College Student Assistance is not available during summer semesters.
Please remember that our scholarship funding is supplemental and not intended to be a tuition assistance program. Students are encouraged to explore other financial resources that are available to them. Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program:
APPLICATION PERIOD IS NOW CLOSED
The Alumni Scholarship Assistance Program is a one-time per academic year scholarship award that serves all tribal citizens residing in the US regardless of community affiliation. Award amounts are based on annual fundraising activities such as memorial donations, private donations, vendor/associate solicitations, and fundraisers. The ASAP application period runs from July 1st to September 15th. Applications received after September 15 will not be considered.
- Be enrolld in Tlingit & Haida Central Council, Indian Tribes of Alaska.
- Originate from a Southeast Alaska community.
- Be enrolled in and attending an accredited college or university as a full-time student.
- Be pursuing an associate degree or higher.
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Reside in the US
- Their T&H enrollment number
- Unoficial Copy of transcripts
- A class schedule OR a Certified Enrollment Verification verifying full-time attendance for the term. (transcripts are not accepted)
